Sledding

Zooming across the snow on a sled

Around the Samerhof in the Lungau region, there are many mountains and meadows, which means there are also many sledding hills. How does a sledding expedition sound to you?

What if your sled doesn’t fit in the car or you left it at home? No problem! You can rent a sled anywhere. You certainly wouldn’t want to miss out on sledding down the 3 km-long natural run on the Fanningberg.

Sledding on the Fanningberg:

The start is at the Fanningberghöhe, the base terminal of the chair lift at 1450 m. Our finish line is the Fanning at 1150 m. It is accessible with the ski bus or car. This sledding run is intermediate/difficult.

There are also many other natural sledding runs in the Lungau region. The Lungau mountains around the Samerhof in Mariapfarr are not only for skiing. Of course, after trudging uphill and before your subsequent downhill ride, don’t forget to stop at one of the region’s traditional huts. Hot chocolate with whipped cream under the Lungau sun will warm you up and ignite your winter vacation spirit at the Samerhof.
